Tim Walls - Executive Director/Source Water Protection Specialist

Tim joined the staff of Rural Water Association of Arizona in August of 2008. He is currently serving as the Executive Director and Source Water Protection Specialist. He lives on the eastern slope of the Chiricahua Mountains in southeastern Arizona.

Tim has over 20 years of experience working with water and wastewater systems. He served in the U. S. Navy for 8 years keeping shipboard mechanical and auxiliary systems operational before moving to Arizona in 1987. He soon found a home in the water industry providing the operation and maintenance of 14 public water systems for Amphitheater Schools in Tucson. He then took on the challenge of Operations Supervisor for Avra Water Co-op. In 1999 he obtained a KE-Water Storage and Distribution contractor’s license and built potable water pump stations, distribution systems and serviced water well equipment. After years of construction, he served as the Superintendent of the water, wastewater and propane divisions of the Tohono O’odham Utility Authority. April 2006 he was awarded the EPA Environmental Achievement Award for the coordinating the construction of a solar powered water well and distribution system in Quitovac, Sonora Mexico for the Tohono O’odham Nation.
