Edmundo Mendez is a Circuit Rider, Water Specialist for the Rural Water Association, which is the state affiliate of the National Rural Water Association. In this capacity, Edmundo provides technical assistance and he also trains personnel on how to solve basic operations issues and helps with compliance issues encountered by operators and managers with water and wastewater operations. He joined the Association in July of 2009 as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Circuit Rider. In this position, Edmundo worked with water and wastewater systems and the state Rural Development office to assist with Rural Utilities Service loan and grant application process.
Edmundo was awarded a National Utility Management Certification in 2010 through the Water University on the water and wastewater management field. Edmundo holds an Arizona Grade IV water and wastewater operator certification in all disciplines.
Previously, Edmundo served as the public works department for the City of Somerton. He was directly responsible for the management of the following departmental divisions; Water Treatment and Distribution System, Wastewater Treatment and Collection system, Solid Waste, Street Maintenance, and the City's Fleet Department. He received the disignation of Certified Public Manager in 2007 through the Arizona State University.
Edmundo holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration and a Masters of Education in Counceling: Human Relations from Northern Arizona University-Yuma.
