Private Water Utility Co-op seeks to fill a FT position for Front Office Customer Service. Providing professional and courteous assistance to members in person and by phone.

Job Functions
• Addresses inquiries regarding billing, payments, usage, water quality, etc. by phone and at a public counter
• Calculates monthly billing statements
• Process closing of month
• Collects and processes all forms of receivables
• Complex letter writing
• Landlord and Tenant agreements
• Payment agreements for members in need of assistance
• Processes adjustments to accounts
• Data entry for multiple types of procedures
• Reconcile reports for daily deposits of checks, cash and credit cards
• Maintain Hardcopy files and database files
• Works closely with Field Technicians on service requests, meter reads, water quality and anything service related
• Review and troubleshoot meter reads for accuracy. Calling members when high usage alarms have been triggered
• Assists with monthly and annual board meetings
• Establish new accounts for service
• Process shutoff notices and schedule disconnection of service for overdue accounts
• Additional duties as assigned

Essential Skills required: Fast and accurate data entry, manage multiple tasks without compromising quality. Ability to take initiative to address and resolve conflicts and report discrepancies, excellent communication skills in all forms is extremely important. Must have confident computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office software and database management. Preparing required documents and letters in a clear and accurate manner. Provide guidance and assistance to other co-workers and members regarding procedures and standards, often in a stressful environment. Process a variety of complex mathematical transactions while complying with departmental procedures. Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations and streamline work processes working cooperatively to provide quality customer service. Partner with all levels of employees regarding technical and nontechnical information. Accepts direction and feedback well. Ability to work extended periods of time at a workstation. Knowledge of utility business procedures helpful.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, supplemented by college level course work with emphasis in business and accounting. 2-5 years in a heavy customer service environment with knowledge of billing and database software.
