U.S. Bureau of Reclamation Commissioner Michael Connor will be a featured speaker at the Border Governors' Binational Desalination Conference May 26-27 in San Diego.
Commissioner Connor's remarks will focus on Reclamation's views on desalination as a water management policy tool in the U.S./Mexican border region.
This two-day conference, featuring simultaneous English-Spanish translation, will bring together representatives from international, federal, state, and local agencies on both sides of the border. Speakers will discuss:
- Projects now underway or in various stages of planning
- Financing approaches for such projects
- New developments in desalination technologies and project design
The conference will be at the Hilton San Diego Resort & Spa. Registration is $200, and includes lunches, a reception on May 26, and background materials. An exhibit room will include displays from desalination consultants and other vendors.
